MOUSSEAU, Wilfrid Joseph
Wilfrid Joseph Mousseau passed away suddenly on Tues. Jan. 22, 2008 at 88 yrs. of age.
Loving son of the late Edward and Agnes (Fuerth) Mousseau. Dear brother of Sister Mary Mousseau, C.S.J. of London, Fr. Lawrence Mousseau of Woodslee and the late Joseph, Arthur, Leonard (sister-in-law Kay Scoble), Rita Mousseau and Claire Marie Hammer. Also survived by 12 nieces and nephews.
Wilfrid was a retired high school teacher (Dresden). Wilfrid was a member of the R.C.L. Branch 113 in Dresden, a veteran of WW2 and served with R.C.A.F. He also worked with the army cadets for the Army Cadet Camp of Ontario (Ipperwash) for more than 25 yrs.
In lieu of flowers, if you so desire, donations to the charity of your choice or masses would be appreciated by the family.
Funeral Mass was held on Sat. Jan. 26 at St. John the Evangelist Church in Woodslee. Interment followed at St. John Cemetery in Woodslee. Arrangements entrusted to Families First Funeral Home and Tribute Centre in Windsor.

SHEPLEY, Douglas
Douglas Shepley passed away peacefully at the Leamington District Memorial Hospital on Wed. Jan. 23, 2008 at 90 yrs. of age.
Beloved husband of the late Ada (nee Buhler). Son of the late Vane and wife Florence Shepley. Dear father of Gail and husband Dan Sinnaeve,
Carson and wife Jean Shepley and Sandy and husband Richard Stiers. Cherished grandfather of 21 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Dear brother of the late Burns, Wallace, Wilfred, Edgar and Annabelle. Brother-in-law of Eileen Shepley, Kathleen Brackell, Grace Buhler and Jack Buhler.
Douglas’ life was celebrated at the Kennedy
Funeral Home Ltd. in Essex on Mon. Jan. 28 with Reverend John Stevenett officiating. Interment followed at Greenhill Cemetery in Kingsville.

STURGEON, Ivy Eveline
Ivy Eveline Sturgeon (nee Lawrenson), 103 yrs., promoted to glory on Sun. Jan. 27, 2008 at Windsor Regional Hospital-Metropolitan Campus.
Beloved wife of the late Fred Sturgeon (1980). Loving sister of Margaret and husband Alex MacMillan of Essex and predeceased by brother Robert (1990) and his wife Esther Lawrenson (2000). Very special aunt to Ed and wife Cathy Lawrenson and Garry and wife Elaine Cuzner and many great nieces and nephews. Ivy will be sadly missed by many close friends and their pets.
She was a life time member of the Salvation Army. Ivy was very intelligent, independent and was a caring person to both people and pets who will be missed dearly.
Funeral service at the Morris Sutton Funeral and Chapel, 68 Giles Boulevard East on Wed. Jan. 30 at 2 p.m. with Captains Mark and Nancy Braye officiating. Interment at Victoria Memorial Gardens.
In kindness memorial donations to the Salvation Army Essex Citadel or to the Windsor and Essex County Humane Society would be appreciated.

SWEET, Pearl Leona (née Boos)
Born March 27, 1913 in Maidstone, died January 23 at Iler Lodge, Essex.
Former teacher in Colchester North and founding member of Cottam Baptist Church.
Survived by son Fred (Jane), Toronto and daughter Lois Sweet (Peter Puxley), Almonte; grandchildren Caitlin Sweet and Sarah Sweet (Steve Succi), Chinta Puxley (Matthew Gibbs), Luke Puxley (Alison Myers) and Kate Puxley and great grandchildren Emma and Stella Rossiter. Survived by sister Ona Reeb (Ivan), Essex; predeceased by loving husband Delmar and sisters Violet, Rose-Marie, Mary and brothers Bernard and Don.
Funeral service was held at the Kennedy Funeral Home Ltd. in Essex on Fri. Jan. 25 followed by burial in Greenhill Cemetery in Kingsville.

WELCH, Edward J.
Ted Welch died of cancer on Mon. Jan. 21, 2008 in Victoria, B.C.
The son of the late Frederick and Barbara Welch. He was born in Strathroy in 1946 and grew up in Essex.
Ted was talented, witty writer; fantastic fisherman; true dog buddy; generous loyal friend and proud contrarian. His journalism career included several years as city hall columnist for the Toronto Sun. He also worked for the Owen Sound Sun times, The Canadian Press and the Windsor Weekly Standard.
Ted is survived by his wife Marj; brothers Bill (Susan) of Barrie, Robert (Lori) of Sarnia and sister Teresa of Essex, as well as a nephew and nieces.
